2021 Tri State Games Cancelled
Unfortunately, due to the current covid-19 crisis being felt in all states associated with Tri State Games, we have had to cancel the games again in 2021.
We have taken this decision very deliberately and carefully, as we know the effect this decision will have on our athletes. It was also a decision based on direct feedback received in the past two weeks from your organizations. In the end all those organizations either cancelled outright or provided responses indicating how any event that was held this year would be severely hampered and restricted in how it could be run. In particular is the inability for us to hold any all-inclusive social events, which as you all know is extremely important to our athletes.
Over the next month or so the Executive Committee will be developing some ideas for interim activities that could potentially be held in each state, similar to last year's 'SA Athletics Day' which was attended by over 80 athletes.
What we can confirm with you all now is that next year is going to be a huge celebration! It will be even more special to be able to get back together again and run Tri State Games. 2022 will be held in Cobram / Barooga from the 6th to the 11th November. We would suggest that if you have accommodation booked for this year, that you transfer to the 2022 dates asap.
We will keep in touch with more information relating to next year, as well as any other activities that may be developed in the interim.
Hope you all stay safe and healthy!
2020 Games Cancelled
It is with great sadness that the Tri State Games Executive Committee have had to cancel the 2020 Tri State event due to the uncertainty around the long-term effects of the Covid-19 Coronavirus. We hope to be able to return in 2021, however this will depend on the situation in Australia improving from its current state.
FUTURE GAMES
We would like to confirm that the next two Tri State Games events will be held in Cobram / Barooga, followed by two events in Portland as planned. If the games were to proceed in 2021 the dates would be the 7th to the 12th November.
REFUNDS
Those teams who paid their registration fees for this year will be eligible for this to be fully reimbursed. If you wish to have your registration held over for the next event, we are happy to do so. Either way can those teams please advise us regarding what course of action you would like us to take regarding the refund of registration fees.
Twenty-Twenty
2020 Tri State Games will be held in Cobram Barooga from 8th to the 13th of November.
Cobram / Barooga 2020
Welcome to another year Tri State Games year! Just a reminder that this year’s Tri State Games will be held in Cobram / Barooga. The games will begin on Sunday, 8th November and finish on Friday, 13th November. It is now time to register your team for this year’s event. Attached to this update is this year’s registration form and cover letter. It is imperative that you register your team in good time and arrange your accommodation as soon as possible. Cutoff date for registrations this year is Friday 22nd May. Payment of the registration fee should accompany the form or be made at the same time. Any independent athletes wanting to compete this year need to also complete this registration form and pay the registration fee by the due date. If your team does not intend to participate in the games this year, we would appreciate it if you could inform us as soon as you can to assist us in our planning.
Annual General Meeting
Our AGM date has been tentatively set for Thursday 26th March 2020. We have had some enquires for possible new committee members. If anyone is interested, please get in touch with me to discuss and we can send out nomination forms prior to the AGM.
Having a Say Conference
Tri State Games will once again be represented at the annual Having a Say conference. Our committee will be providing information to interested groups throughout the three days of the conference as well as holding an indoor sport ‘come & try’ activity. If your group is heading down to Geelong for the conference come by and see us!
